Voice Dream Writer is a new app from the makers of Voice Dream Reader.  This app allows users access to text-to-speech to proofread their work.  It also gives users a unique experience to search words through a phonetic and meaning search.  For example, search for "inuf" phonetically, and you will find "enough", and search for "Fast Africa Cat" by meaning and you will find "Cheetah."  This app also creates an outline of headings, paragraphs, and sentences as you type.

WeKWL App

WeKWL is a free app that allows educators a collaborative way for students to create KWL charts (What we think we know? What do we want to know? What are we learning?).  Students can work in this app and build a KWL chart together, working synchronously on the same chart, or working on a different chart.  You can use as many students as you want who can work collaboratively to build a KWL chart.

Prizmo App

Prizmo ($9.99) is an app that allows users to take a picture of a document, write into that document, and have that document read aloud to them.  It appears to work well.  However, I have noticed if the document has a lot of symbols or pictures it has a hard time detecting those with its text to speech.  The good news is you can edit all of the information before you read the document.

ClassDojo

ClassDojo is available for free and can be used on phones, tablets, or on the computer.  This is a great resource for classroom management.  The teacher can use this app to create seating charts, take attendance, and keep track of student behavior.  Each student gets an individual activation code so they can keep track of individual progress.  ClassDojo also makes it easy to share information with parents on student progress.  This is a great free resource for any educator!  It not only helps you keep track of data, but it also engages students to want to participate and have positive behavior in class.
